Yes say it in your best Arnie voice!
They’re called “canned ham” campers.
It’s a hot camping trend to restore those round, old metal vintage trailers that resemble big tins of meat. Making them Pinterest-worthy with creative, throwback-style decorating is even hotter.
At a time when travelers can buy a moving mansion — travel trailers or fifth wheels with fireplaces, TVs and even jetted tubs — the small campers offer an appealing return to a simpler life.
The restoration we have added onto our website is one from our Princeton Homestead. This 1967 Portabuilt Trailer was originally built in Langley BC. From what we have been told about it's history with the family, it was purchased to be a hunting trailer as the dad, Graham, loved to hunt. We were thinking of restoring this unit ourselves and didn't want it to go to the scrap yard., it was too much for us to restore. Luckily my big brother is into all things needing restoration.. let the adventure begin.
And so it begins... the trailer rolls off the homestead to Abbotsford BC.
Check out the start of the restoration!
